OCMotivator agrees these Hellcat niceties may be minute, but you certainly shouldn’t take them for granted.

In this new Golden age of American Muscle, sports cars have a come a long way regarding tech-advent amenities—valet mode, hill start assist, remote start, etc. And while Dodge isn’t usually the first to adopt new tech, it does it much better than Chevrolet or Ford. Especially with the Hellcat.

YouTuber OCMotivator waxes poetic on his 2019 Hellcat Challenger Redeye, specifically on the best user features it has, and tells you why you should use them frequently.

Multiple Hellcat Key Fobs

First on the list, the three FOBs—two red keys, one black key. As we all know, the black fob is the “responsible” key, and red fob is the “fun” key that unlocks the glorious 717 (797 for the Redeye) horses from their stables. And while some people believe this is rather extraneous of Dodge, OC Motivator loves it.

“I gave (his wife) the black key, and she has no idea that it restricts it to 500 horsepower,” he said. “She just thinks there’s different colors.”

It sounds like he’s straddling the fence of sexism, but to his credit he does explain that despite his wife’s protests about the car and how she doesn’t approve, the car is gone when he comes home from work. She has also told him how fast and fun is to drive it. So, she clearly loves the car.

Valet & Eco Modes

He also goes on to talk about the valet and eco modes, and how it essentially does the same thing as the black key by paring down the power. However, they do it in different ways: eco mode dials the horsepower back to 500, valet mode restricts it to 300 and disables the paddle shifters among other things.

“Valet mode is the coolest thing in the world for a car like this, and any high performance car should have one,” OCMotivator said. “I valet a lot, and also throw it in this mode when I go to the shop…I can sleep soundly knowing my car is not doing the Ferris Bueller’s Day Off jump in the Ferrari.”

2019 Redeye Burnout

Other Luxuries

He talks about being able to simply switch between 500 and 797 HP on the fly without the black key, but his absolute favorite Hellcat feature by far? Line lock.

“When I had my 2018 Scat Pack, I heard people talking about it and how good it was, and I was thinking ‘that’s just something for the race track and to warm up the tires. And I’m not going to track,” he said. “Then I got this car and I got curious about some of the features. Tried out line lock and I love it.”

He explains that though he’s had the car for less than a year, he’s actually going to need a new set of rear tires because he can’t get enough of it. We can’t blame him. Filling an entire lot with hot rubber is a special kind of addiction.
