1999 Ram Van 1500 no tail lights at all
I just got my 99 going again, and it has no tail lights, no running light brake lighte turn whatsoever. The dash lights, front headlights, front turn signals work.
I noticed a ground wire on the passenger side inside was cut so I re attached it (the headlights didn't work but they did after I reconnected it)
I traced the wiring harness for the tail lights all the way to the fuse box and nothing is disconnected
I checked the fuses and they seem to be fine?

In my case the dome lights and rear lights would not work and the windshield wipers didn’t work either. My windshield wiper motor was installed incorrectly and jamming the drive arm against a stud, blowing an upstream fuse for all those circuits.
If your wipers work fine, none of your fuses are blown, and all correct fuses installed, this information may not be helpful of course.
Search for the wiring diagram. Get a multimeter and check voltages along the path. You can use a straight pin to pierce wire insulation if there is no convenient plug where you want to check a voltage.

I have been researching, I will check this, apparently there is a 30 amp fuse where a 20 amp should be related to the trial lights, so something could be burned out.
I need to get this van in the road, so I may have to wire tail lights from the turn signals and running lights and wire a brake light directly from the brake switch
Interesting, there is a brake controller for a trailer, and testing the red (brake output) line DOES yield +12v when the brake pedal is pushed down
I have the tail lights out. But the bulbs appear to be new. Will test them
The windshield wipers work
No fuses are blown
This is a conversion van with additional wiring harnesses

I tested one of the bulbs, it works.
I'm wondering if it is the connector under the van where it appears the tail light harness connects.
The reverse lights work, weirdly. I don't have the energy to crawl under today yet

Does anyone have the pinout for the wiring harness under the hood where it connects to the connector by the front they connects to the tail lights wiring harness, I am hoping to test for voltage under the hood without trying to mess with the connector (if there's voltage going down to the connector but nothing at the lights then it's the connector and I can at least run patch wires back to the tail lights)
If it has a trailer harness, chances are REAL good that your problem lies where the trailer harness hits the main harness. Dodge was notorious for using crappy splices there.

I am thinking the connector up front or like you say the trailer wiring? Next I want to try the trailer wiring
