When the ASD goes out, does it alway throw a code? When the car dies it is not setting of the check engine soon light.Then once it dies you can't get it to start again for about 20 - 30 minutes.

Does that sound like the ASD?? I can't locate one at Radio Shack - they only have a 4 prong and I need a 5 prong relay - so it's off to the dealer and $70.00

The ASD won't throw a code on it's own, but it can be the cause for the code being thrown out. Don't limit yourself to radio shack....walmart, autoparts stores, audio shops, etc. carry 12v relays too.

Yeah, replace the ASD first and if that doesn't do it, the common issue with our cars is the cranks sensor.
