1998 Dodge Avenger: Sport (Tensioner Pulley)
Ok, I just replaced my:
Rotor's
Brake Pads
Serpentine Belt
AC Belt
Timing Belt
Water Pump
Timing Belt Tensioner/Idler Pulley
When doing this we were hoping it was my water pump making the loud humming sound.
Well....we were wrong.
I now need a Tensioner Pulley for my Serpentine Belt and AC Belt. The Bearings are starting to go. Is there anywhere I can buy these OTHER than Dodge?
$97.00 Drive Belt Tensioner
$123.00 AC Belt Tensioner
Those are the Dealer prices.
Is there anyway I can take bearings from another pulley and swap them out? My mechanic told me it could be done if I had another pulley with the same size bearings..
Thanks,
Tempered

never buy it at a junkyard it's bearings may also be bad also when the bearings go it can/will fry the belt ...
not worth the risk ... advanced /autozone had them for like $65

Go to http://www.rockauto.comthey list them for about $14-20 depending on the brand and their shipping is pretty cheap and fast.
hey man my ac pully tensionr fell the hell off about two months ago, i got mine from advance auto for like 46 bucks and its real easy to put on. my belt was just sping around the big bolt that holds it on. i just cut the belt and bought new one wit the pully... make sure you get the grooved one for the ac and the smooth one is for the alt an p.s. belt.
