Default Hey you guys are bad @ss!

Hey I just joined the forum and wanted you ALL to know that you info has been huge to me! Avenger97, much respect! My dad just found a 95 for 300.00 bucks! Body is super straight and it ran till he got it home, From what we've read we're gonna replace the disributer next that seemed to fix others problems. Already replaced the fuel pump and filter after it gets running then pop has got a guy that owes him a favor so he's replacing the water pump and timing chain for us.So hopefully it'll be up and running soon and I'll have some pics. You guys be ready for questions cause when the car comes home to me then I'll need the help cause I am by NO means a motorhead!!Talk to you guys later!

Welcome to DF ProjectRed95. You stated distributor so you must be talking about a V6, which btw, has a timing belt.
What's going on with the car? The distributor is a good place to start but I would also replace the crank angle sensor. The distro has the cam angle sensor in it but that piece can be pretty pricey so, heads up
Plugs and wires would also be a good thing and perhaps the firewall relays. Leave the "goop" on the wired side of the relays, btw.
Let us know if you need any help, that's what we're here for

Yeah, well I had read on an earlier post that it seems that I have the same problem as a lot of people. The car turns over but just doesn't wanna start. I've replaced the fuel pump and filter and still nothing. My Dad has the car at his house thats 5 hours away so I'm limited on things I can do and check. He has a guy thats gonna save us some money by replacing the water pump and timing belt but we wanna get it running before we take it to him. It's got 112k on it so I figure it won't hurt to go ahead and replace the distibuter.I'm checking locally for one at salvage yards but am coming up empty. I have the money to get a reman., but if I can find one cheaper then all the better.I'll replace the CA sensor and the firewall relays as well thanks. I'm so pumped to get this car to my house and screw it up! LOL I'm gettin the chilton book for it so I'm gonna try some of the MINOR work myself. I know basic things on a car but hope to expand my motor knowledge with this one.Since I only gave 300. bucks for the thing it won't make feel that bad if I totally screw somethin up!
Thanks,
Tony
