Default Engine compartment making Rachety sounds

I hearing rachety sounds coming from my engine compartment. It feels like something is loose and rattling all around. It only happens when the car is in gear, drive or reverse and I'm at a complete stop. When it is in park or neutral the noises disappear or when I'm driving.
I have a 1995 Avener ES.

Please let me know if something similar has happened to anyone.
Thanks.

actually its not the rachety sound that comes from shifting from P to D.
It sounds more like there are some screws loose and going round and round somewhere in there. Like a slow grinding clicking sound that is loud. Only happens when I'm at a complete stop and either in R or D.
If I'm at P or N the sounds disappear.
Took it to a mechanic and he couldn't figure it out.

I would be concerned about this also since it only rattles when there's a load on the tranny (even as light as it is). Does it do this cold, warm or anytime? Does it do it all the time?

I'm not sure I assum its normal cause its did this ever since I bought her. I had 2 techs drive my car worried about the clutch and they said she was fine. I have a 5 speed and it does it only if my rpms aren't high enough and I give it gas. Like if I go from 2nd to 5th and hold down the pedal. I agree with you on the sound. Also it sounds like my tranny is slappin the block when I bounce 1st. In a parkin lot in 2nd and got to 1st she'll kinda studdar and rock back and forth. Or when in 1st I let give and gas at let off repeatly.

I can describe the noise more like screeching metal parts every 5 - 10 seconds.
This only happens once the engine is warmed up and after driving for a little bit say 10 minutes.
When the engine is cold, the noises aren't there.

Silvercoupe97, I like what you've done with your car. I wanted to do something similar, but instead bought the STI.

I can't think of what it could be at the moment for some reason. Let me ponder on this for a bit.

Thanks for the comment Airflow. I had an option to get an EVO/STi/Charger and went with the swap instead. I love my car as it was, I just wanted more power and having AWD helps keep it on the ground as I'm sure you know . That and it's a sleeper...except for part where the FMIC gives it away, lol.
