No.. i have never done the corner check... how do i do this check?
Just push down on each corner and make sure that it doesn't bounce more than 3 times. Seriously push it down though.

ok well i tried that. and it doesnt bounce much at all... but still every time i go over large bumps or even when i pull in my driveway my wheels/suspension make a bad thud/ banging sound... i take it its time for new shocks... any thoughts?

It could be your balljoints. Check them for slits, cracks, and leaks of grease.
Make sure that when you check them to physically touch them by lightly squeezing them.

Also check the wheel hub bearings for noise/play

ok thanks for the replys.. my uncle is going to come over today and take a look at it... he is a little more mechanically inclined than i am lol.. but im learning.

ok so heres the story, uncle came over and we jacked it up, tested both wheels for play and nothing on the right(drivers side) wheel, and about 1/16 inch playon the passengers checked all ball joints and wheel bearings and they seemed to be fine. we really couldnt check the shocks because we didnt really know how. but what he was thinking, was the Sway bar, would this have anything to to with making a knocking/banging sound and making the car vibrate when going over bumps.
That was his only guess was the sway bar...

bad endlinks or worn bushings can do that ...
