Default Transmission Question

Hey all,
THis is my first post here, and I just wanted to get your thoughts on something. I've got a 95 Dodge Avenger that I've owned since 2003. It has around 194k miles, but it's been well taken care of since I got it. Back in February my Automatic tranny "exploded for lack of a better word. So I replaced it with a transmission that had somewhere arond 30,000 miles on it. This past August my car began to jump into "limp" mode when driving. after driving it home in 2nd gear for several days I replaced a valve pump. A couple of days after I lost forward gears altogether (Presumably from driving in limp mode too much). the filter had some interesting chunks of metal, and even seal in it!

Anyhow I've replaced the transmission and really only driven it about 5 miles, but I'm noticing a pretty big difference. My new transmission is shifting betweem 2.5 ad 3.5k as opposed to 3.5 to 4.5with my previous tranny.Andhas a somewhat jarring shift(It's a noticeable jerk, but nothing is grinding) between 1st and 2nd, and also between 3rd and OD.

SO, on to my questions.
1. What RPMs should the Avenger be shifting gears at on average.
2. Any ideas what would cause a jerk when shifting gears?

Thanks for any help ya'll can provide!!

You don't say I4 or V6??? , I believe the shift points are different ....Also is the tranny rebuilt by a shop or remanufactured ???
I'd guess the jerking shift may be a shift kit causing the shift to be snappier ...

Sorry, it's a 4, and it's rebuilt, not remanufactured. A bit more information to go along with this, the jerking occurs after coming from a dead stop, rolling stops or highway slowdowns don't cause it.
