i have a 1996 dodge avenger with a v6 and an auto tranny. last night i was going down the road and i had it in drive and it all of a sudden jumped out of gear and stopped pulling. and then it shifted to 2nd gear and drove fine. Now all i have is second and low gears. drive is gone. does anyone know what could be wrong with this. any information will be greatly appriciated

 

That is "limp mode" it means the tranny has a problem ... You'll need to get it to a tranny shop / or dealer to scan the tranny and see codes

i took it to aamco and they told me that the tranny was shot. they said that i would need a new one so if anyone nows where i can get a good one at a good price plz let me know and thanks again for your help

 

I'm not a huge amaco fan EVERY car needs a new tranny(the same guy runs macco), I'd try another shop or dealer ...

 

oh ok than is there any places that you would recemmend

 

and by the way do you know of anyone that has an avenger that has been wrecked that they have for sale for parts
