Default wheel spacers

I was looking on ebay, and saw some wheel spacers. in the description, it says it can help handling... can they really? i can understand if you can get wider tires on there, but with the stock size, are they going to really do anything? I read on an earlier post that they damage the wheel bearing. anyone tried these at all?

Default RE: wheel spacers

I've used them on a race car they do help widen the track ect BUT on a street driven car they push the tires out and normally into the fenders and will hit and damage ... add to that the cost of buying longer studs for the rims, having to install them , ect ect as well as the added stress on the bearings DEFINATELY not worth it ...

alright. that makes lots of sense. and sense my car has to be on the street all the time so not worth paying all of the damages there. thanks bv
