Default grinding noise

I have a 98 advenger with 200,000+ miles. It makes a big grinding noise when sterring to the right, even slightly. The bigger the turn, the louder the sound. I just had the control arms replaced (recall) and I replaced the outer tie rods - all were completely shot. I was guessing it may be the wheel bearings or something. Is there an easy way to check them? If they are bad can they be replaced by myself (bolt on bolt off) or is a press or specialty tool needed?

Default RE: grinding noise

jack up the front and try to move the wheel , if there is play the wheel bearings may be bad ... we have hub assemblies the bearings are preinstalled so its bolt/unbolt ...
It could also be a bad axle assembly ...
