Default Dash brake light.... and other problems 97ES

Hey guys maybe you can help.....

my car is a 97 avenger ES 2.5V6 Disc brakes and factory alum 17" wheels

For the longest while now the drivers side front brakes have been squeeling.... pads are good, even swapped them side to side and no change. When you go to stop right before the car stops I can hear a grinding noise in the wheel like metal on metal. This is even worse if you stop with the wheels turned, more so to the right it really grinds. I've had the caliper off about 3-4 times now looking for the problem. CV shaft is tight and hub bearing has no feelable play to it......

So this moring on the way to work.... I go to stop hard at a light and the red brake light on the dash comes on..... I take off and it goes out. SO I play with it all the way to work and figure out that if you stop normal the light doesnt come on. If you stop kinda hard it comes on..... then goes back off when you take off again.

Can anybody tell me whats making the light come on like this???? Air in the brakes? Bad abs sensor?? Thanks

Make sure to use good hight temperature lube for caliper pins. Before you lube use brake cleaner to wash away all the old lube. If you use crappy lube, it will overheat, and turn into glue.
Brake light, as BV said, check your brake fluid level. Air in the system, you would have to pump your brakes couple of times before actually breaking. To check if you have air in the system, just pump your brake pedal while the car is of and see how hard and how far the pedal will go!
