yea i had the same problem.. the way to fix it is to make sure the radio is clean. You should take your new radio and soak it in warm water and mild soap to clean the whole thing out. Then air dry it and then it should work. If it doesn't then you should jump off a 10 story building.

hey you have to wire all of the speakers to the head unit. The infinity system all works together so if you take one piece the whole thing falls apart. Or at least that is what i found out with mine. I bought an alpine deck and cartoys said i had to wire the speakers to the head unit. This is because the stock head unit only gives a max of between 2 and 3 watts which will then be amplified by the amp. The head unit you bought pumps out between 40 and 52 watts per channel. That is 20 times more power going to be amplified. The infinity amp is probably going to a protect mode so you don't blow your speakers because it is not used to all of the extra power and is probably thinking that there is a short. Hope this helps. BTW its not too big of a deal to wire the speakers to the head unit.

Just use your manual that came with your new head unit and then you will have to run wires from every speaker to your head unit. Just match the colors of the head unit wires with the correct speakers. i.e. purple and purple black to the rear speakers. (just some colors i pulled out of my *** they may not be the right colors) The components in the dash should already be hooked with the front door speakers so you wont need any wires to them. Just a thought but you should buy some new speakers and an amp to go with them. I bought infinity kappa perfects to replace the stock infinity speakers. I also bought a 4 channel mtx audio amp to power them. It sounds awesome. Don't get me wrong the stock speakers are good. I just needed more volume to blow my ears. j/k hope this helps. I will try to find a website to give more in depth info on the wiring.

Did you wire the Blue wire for the Power Antena? That acts as a Turn-ON wire for the infinity amp. I had the same problem. You need to connect the wire for turning on the amp.

I hope this helps!

I had the same problem with my Venge. I have a 95 ES. I had my Pioneer DEH-P6400 head unit that I installed in my Grand Am before I rolled it. Since I am lacking funds and don't wanna shell out the money for a wiring harness I just hooked up the hu to the factory wiring. First time I failed, but I fixed the problem. If anyone wants a detailed wire color/use e-mail me at stc@sutv.com... I'll be glad to give anyone a run down. And if anyone gets a chance check mine out at http://members.sounddomain.com/inline_sk8ter69
