So here is the low down. I have checked the fuel pump and plugs and wires. I have checked the egr valve and cleaned out the carbon. I have tested the sensors on the intanke and they seem to work. The car will idle fine and soon as you put your foot on the gas pedal it starts to misfire or sound like it is drowning from gas. Once you get pas this you can rev the engine up nicely. Could it be bad injectors or a bad ecm ???Just wondering what you guys might have to say about this.

 

Sorry to bring up an old post, but your condition is due to a bad distributor. I had one in my shop a few weeks back that did the same thing. Started and idled perfectly, as soon as throttle was applied, it would die out. I think the coil pick up was bad. Replaced the distributor and bingo, ran like a top.
