Default Speakers

OK here's the situation i have a 98 es coupe with the infinity system in it, i already replaced the factory stereo with a nice pioneer deck, and i just bought some nice focal 6.5 inch mids and tweets, my question is should i leave the 3.5 inch speakers in the dash or replace them with the smaller tweets and use the crossovers that came with the focals and just run them from the mids and not use that channel from the amp or should i just mount them separately and leave the 3.5's and replace them with the same size speakers later, btw I'm using the infinity amp for now but intend to replace it later with a 4 channel, and if i do just install the tweets in the factory location in the dash does anyone have any suggestions as to how to mount them as they are smaller?

Factory amp is 6 channel ... 2 tweets/2 doors/2 rear
you can do either you have listed ...
I mounted the component tweets in the rear view mirror triangles (dependant on size) used the stock door wiring to power the crossovers ... When you replace the amp you can rewire the front dash tweeters to the head unit and use the four channel to power the doors and rear...You don't say what model focals , but most won't sound good till at least 75 watts , far under the factory amp output

You can also cut adapter plates out of plexi to mount them in the dash location , then cover them with the factory grill

yeah that's kinda what i was thinking about mounting on plexi in the the stock locale, but if i did mount them in another area i was thinking the mirror triangles and then doing like you said with the dash speakers, now if i mount them on plexi in the dash location the problem i was trying to figure out is how to make the plexi stay because the speakers have clip like things to hold them in? i hate to have to cut or drill anything if i don't have to just because my interior is near perfect but i can if i have to. oh and the focals are the 165 a1's

stockers are held in with butyl rubber pop them out and put the plexi back pretty easy
