i have a 1997 dodge avenger es v6 it has 187,000 miles auto trans. i have a engine light on so i took a code reader and it said shift solenoid, tcm, and tcm malfunction. i have been told that it is possibly be something inside the tranny. is there anyone that if it is something inside or if it is just a solenoid, or both the soleniod and the tcm? thank you

I try to start with the cheapest part ... The input speed sensor ... It's around $15/30 depending on the area ...
Sticky at the top has the location for you ...
i cleared the codes and it drove fine everything working speedo and all no delays or anything and then it goes to shift then it went right into limp mode. it sould be just the solenoid right?
Again it could be the Input speed sensor ,the TCM or the solenoid pack ....Any of those three items can put it into limp mode as well as an internal tranny trouble ...
