Recently my paint has been starting to fade and Bubble & Crack in various areas of my car.. which is kinda annoying me.. and i was thinking instead of just touching up those areas i was gonna just repaint the whole car a diff color.. My Tech School that i go to has a Auto Detailing shop and they will do everything for FREE... i just have to provide the paint and Primer. My question is How much paint &&& primer will i need to buy to paint the entire car. I Know what ur thinking why are u having amatures learning the trade do it (Accompanied by a Professional)... well last year they had Several cars go through there and i took a peek at most of them and they turned out great.... && MUCH CHEAPER.. =]

 

Are you changing color to something different or the same color ???

A normal repaint needs about a gallon of paint & a gallon of clear with a color change I'd add another quart of each ... It also depends on what color you are using and going over ... A light color over a darker color can take allot more paint to cover well...

Primer depends on how much you are planning on stripping ...

 

okok.... what would be the difference if i were to paint it the same color...?? cause i wouldnt mind the same color and add racing stripes.. but what were u gonna suggest if it were to stay the same color.

 

Gallon of each would do a full repaint
