Limp Mode??? Please Help!!!!!
Hey guys,
I was driving for about 15 minutes in town today, and the car ran fine. (We had recent flooding so i was driving through a little standing water, nothing too serious though), anyway, after that Im going about 40 m.p.h. and the car wont shift out of 2nd gear.?? What the heck..so i park it, shut if off for about 30 mins, go and try it again, it shifts perfectly, like a charm...why was it in limp mode for a short time like that??? any ideas would be greatly appreciated...(its a 96 v6 venge)....is this something i should be worried about???

Hey thanks, lets hope nothing too serious, also, how do i know if my car has codes...are there any lights that flash on the instrument panel, or do i just have to go somewhere to get it checked out?
I bet the CPS was affected for that period of time. It is down there in water's reach.
Shutting it off reset the values that the CPS was sending (a bunch of errors) which caused the ECU to put you into limp mode.
