Hey all just wanted to know how hard is it to install a shift pack???? i think that is what is wrong with my tranny it is very noisey like i can hear it shift to every gear while driving and i can hear it down shift also. i need this thing to last a little longer and i can always use the new shift pack with my new rebuild i am wanting to do so im gunna jsut buy one. does anyone know if i can just reach in there and pop the old one out and slap the new one in or am i needing to take out the tranny?? please help

A shift kit , will need the tranny drained and the pan removed ... certain holes in the valve body will need drilled out and parts replaced ...
the troubles you list ect I highly doubt will be fixed/helped by the shift kit

no Bad venge not shift kit a shift pack lol. i know a shift kit wont help you know the silonoid pack, thats what i wanna change out the thing that shifts it with the pressure lol. thanks tho

Noisy? The old style solenoids are noisy when the solenoid cover has been removed. The newer style is a bit more quiet, but only because it was designed that way as the cover has to be removed. Regardless, those solenoids are just that way...loud. They sound like you're spinning a ratchet around. lol.
I do think it to be a good idea to go ahead and change it out while you're in there, just be sure to get the new version and not the older one. Check with the whoever you buy it from that you are getting the newer one.

yea im making sure its the new one only 140 online autozone and advance wants 180 for it.
