1997 2.5L. I notice that when i first start my car and drive it with the engine cold. it will not shift into 4th gear for about 5 minutes until it is completely warm. it has pretty much done this the entire time i have owned the car. (2 years) is this normal or not.???

 

I wish I could tell you yes for sure, but I cannot. However, in both the past Toyota Corrolla and the Cavy, they would do the same thing. Toyota dealership told me this was normal and was part of the warm up prosess to make the engine burn the fuel more completly when cold. I would think that the Mitsubishi engineers are probabally under the same impression.
