Default 99 Avenger Tranny Arms

I've completed installing a new engine in my avenger. Which I must say I could not have dome without this site. I now have a problem I can not find a solution to. Everything is hooked up. I can not get it to stay in gear. There are 2 arms on the tranny. one locks in when I put the car in gear. The ither doesn't. this seems to be the only obvious problem. is this even an issue? Is there anything else I should be looking for? PLEASE HELP!!!!

4 cyl, manual. I'm starting to think I may have burned out a plug on that harness. there happened to be 2 ends that could have reached 2 different plugs. one was on the tranny. Didn't start, switched them, it starts, but now this problem...

It sounds like a MECHANICAL linkage trouble more then an electrical interlock trouble
