Question Any A/C repair guys out there?

1998 Sebring LXi, 2.5 V-6,
My a/c quit on my car. Accually, it has not worked since I bought the car a few months ago.
I just thought it needed a little freon. NOPE.
I pulled a vaccume on it, put in 1 can of 134a w. stop leak (a 4 oz can), and about 6oz of 134a and that is all it wouls suck in. the compressor clutch will not kick in at all. I unplugged it at the compressor, and checked all 3 wires coming into the compressor and did not get 12v from any of them. they are the 3 wires arranged in a triangle pattern with a triangle(ish) connector. Is there suppoosed to be 12v going through that harness, or is it just a low voltage relay harness? I know the electrical system is finicy on these cars, so I dont want to start poking a prodding all over & mess something up. Any ideas? The green light on the AC switch comes on when depressed, so I dont think the switch is bad. Also, the clutch can be spun freely by hand. So the compressor is not locked up.
Anything else to check for?

I know on my 95 avenger es i mine stoped working after i got it charged. So i just took a wire from the battery and taped the three wires to see when i found the one that made the clutch engage. i found it wired it with a fuse and a toggle switch back in the dash and when i turn it on the clutch engages and i got ice cold air. i did this for 3 years and used my ac all the time in the summer and no problems. just if you do this make sure you fuse it. i beleave the high speed fan will kick on too when u find the right wire..

To: virginatheavenger ,
I checked all the relays & fuses under the hood & they all checked out ok. I have not checked the fuse box inside the car. Will get back to you on that one.

That would be OK to get it working for now, but I like everything on my cars to work the way it was meant to from the factory. But I may do that untill I can figure out what the problem is. But to me, that seems to be bypassing the high and low pressure switches. So I can see a catastophic compressor falure in the near future by running that set up.
