Cruise Control

Default Cruise Control

I have a 2000 Dodge Avenger and am having trouble with the cruise control. it doesn't seem to hold the Mph when i set it. the cruise control light comes on but it doesn't stay at the set miles it just goes down. i dont know what it could be. help, thanks

check your hard plastic vacuum line going to the cruise control box for cracks and breaks. That line leaking usually causes the issue you are describing.

if the lines not cracked the actuator black box on passenger side strut tower may be bad as well

did a visual inspection but all seems fin but the actuator box seems to have been opened previously so it maybe with that. Is there a fuse that maybe needed to be replaced? thanks again

If the light comes on the fuse is OK
