Black tar coming from behind door panel...
I am purchasing a 99 Avenger ES (black) with sunroof, leather interior, and original Infiniti system. All looks good and reminds me of my previous 99 Avenger Sport (red) with sunroof and cloth interior.
One thing that I noticed was some black puddles of a tar like substance on the bottom of the door panels and on the floor where the door closes. I was told that the leaking adhesive is a common problem and that the adhesive is simply old and melting due to the heat in Florida. I think that it is strange because I never had this problem with my old Avenger and did not see any posts about it. What could this be and how can it be fixed?
Thanks, Ryureppa!

Yes it's normal , was a recall the goo held in the plastic liner in the door and it melts and leaks out ... The dealer cleaned it up and removed it to prevent further dripping ...
I pulled the panels and used solvent then used silicone to hold the plastic in
