Default 98 dodge avenger.. 2.5 liter fast?

So I'm buying an avenger tomorrow drove it today was really not impressed, it has a tough name but no ***** to back it up.. so I've been searching around and performance parts are pretty scarce for this car anyone know of a good avenger website.. Not even eBay had much for them.. Idk how middable this car is but I had a neon b4 and they sell parts everywere.. Well thanks

The 2.5 is an unloved /unsupported motor ... There were only a few companies that did any aftermarket support for the motor , both companies that did turbo kits went out of bussiness ... The 3.0 swap is the best bang for the buck

So I try to google everything so I don't ask to many questions but in really not cpmeing up with much is there a write up on this swap? A website?.. The swap I did with my neon we had a small write up to go off of but the guy that helped with the swap made a full write up of the swap.. Jus curious of anyone in the avenger world has done this.. Its kinda sad a car with such an aggressive stance to have nothing under the hood to get its heavy *** body around.. What does the 3.0 come out of? Wide range of performance parts for that motor?

So that is deff not a very good write up ha no offense.. So can I stick with the 2.5 wiring harness and ecu ? Any performance ecu out there? Any modifications need to be made to wiring harness? I'm guessing I use the same transmission? is there a trans that wud be better to get? so from what I saw the 2.5 has 163HP and the 3.0 has 200 or so.is the swap really worth that extra HP? I know that's around 40 HP but when I wanna buy performance parts do I jus buy them for the 3.0 eclipse?
Thanks for help it really is appreciated, I'm just trying to see what kinda project car I just got my self into.

So I did some searching and even the 3.0 isn't that moddible.. Couldn't even find a turbo kit..but I'm jus using my mobile phone to try an search but still not finding much.. Ur name is " bad venge" is it really? What does ur venge run on the quarter mile jus wandering.. Kinda stupified over a neon being more moddible then an avenger lol still can't get over how aggressive the name sounds

The 3.0 IS Moddable ... Check out Rippmods for a Supercharger ...Funny I've had 100 people do the motor swap from that write up ...
I don't drag much best time I have is a 13.49 , not bad for a 17+ pig from the factory

alright thanks.. So the motor swap is pretty basic swap. Almost like jus putting the stock motor back in? The 3.0 and 2.5 do look a lot alike.. I'm hopeing to do this swap in April.. Jus see how things go.. I gotta do somethin to this car haha.. And that's a pretty good time.. is it n/a? So do I jus stick with the 2.5 trans?

yes it's a unbolt . rebolt not hard , uses the same tranny ... There was only one company that adapted a 5 speed stick and unfortunately they are not around at this time ...
I'm running NOS

Ok sweet thanks for all the info.. I'm not sure how much faster this motor is gonna make the car but I'm pretty sure it will be worth it.. so I'm guessing u have the 3.0 in urs? is it a noticeable gain?
