Default breaking transmissions

is there any way to keep the a604 transmissions from falling apart? i've been through 3 transmissions now in the last year all with the same problem. the pin in the differential breaks and shatters the case. i have a 95 2.5l v6 avenger es and found out that a 95 avenger tranny is the only one that will work making them hard to find. any help is appriciated, i love this car and need this fixed before it turns into an even bigger money pit

95/96 are the same check the plugs to verify some late build 96's are different , some are welding the pin in place on rebuilds ... BTW you are the first I've heard of destroying 3 in a year

well we bought the car with the tranny already shattered so i got it cheap. when we replaced it the first time, the used one we got (obviously cheaper, for me bein 16) didnt have drive so we changed it again. it worked for a while till my dad blew drive in that one too coming home from work. then we took the drive gear from the shattered tranny and VERY CAREFULLY put it in the not shattered tranny and it worked up till i snapped the pin again and cracked the case. through all this searching, we found that the 95 is pretty much year specific. its either it doesnt bolt up or it doesnt match the wiring although you may be correct. how or where can i get a rebuild done on these and how much will it cost

it would be easier to just try and weld the case back together find a new pin and BUY THE RETAINING CLIP (aftermarket from a tranny shop) this was dodges fix for the pin i have the same issue now but i didn't throw it threw the case so just pull it out again and try to fix it or go to a tranny shop and ask for a new case
