Default Spuddering problems when taing off and driving

99 v6 auto sport

recently changed spark plugs, oil and refueled at gas station, 12 miles after fueling the car drove liek crap spuddering when i take of and maintain and speed of 35 it just kicks and drags.

i figured bad gas from the store, so i start with looking in the gas tank for trash or water from accessing the holes under the back seats. couldnt find anythign there all looked good.

took of fuel filter and flushed the inside of it to find muddy gas. so i replaces the fuel filter and same problem.

so i took off the injecters maybe they were clogged or bad, all looked clean there.

check engine light says p1391 interm loss of power to cmp or ckp. cam shaft sensor or crankshaft sensor? would those cause the skipping or spuddering?

ive tried all this and cant find a solution. anyhelp would be spectacular.

When you changed the plug wires was there oil in the plug wells ?

Have you checked the EGR valve? if the tubing cracks that can cause stumbling

intermittant loss of power can be a bad relay

There are three major causes
1)leaking gaskets from the rescent plenum removal
2)bad/dirty IAC
3) bad /dirty EGR

Process of elimination ...
1) if you suspect leaking gaskets you can listen for the tell tale whistles/noises or a quick check I use carb/throttle cleaner while motor is running spray the suspected area if the idle smooths out or spikes theres a leak...

2)bad dirty EGR ... fast dirty way is to make a temporary block , block of the egr on the rear of the plenum and restsrt the car ... Idle smooths out the EGR is bad , you can try dissassembly and cleaning , or replace it or leave the block in place

3) bad dirty IAC you have tried everything else , you can try dissassembly/ cleaning and see if that helps or try a new one

i was reading in my manual, the cam shaft sensor seems to be the one that might be my problem. its inside the distributer and you have to replace the whole part. $1,100 from the dealer! holy crap. is it possible to clean the sensors? the engine code is p1391 no signal? loss of power in cmp/ckp. ckp is a small plastic plag that goes in teh bellhouseing or around that area. anyone know where i can get a cheaper ckp/distributer? the books describes what seems to be happing. telling teh fuel injectors to fire unsequencial.

thanks for replies, we can get this one figured.
