My stratus has the 3.0L 6g72 and I'd agree with you, it's not worth the swap.
There's also the 3.5L 6g74 to consider (not sure if it works for you Avenger guys, does for the Eclipse/Stratus/Galant/Sebring platform though) as there's less part swapping (at least for my platform) than the 3.8L 6g75.
My future plans are to get a FI'd 3.8L 6g75 and AWD. Yes it'll be the cost of a new car
but worth every penny to me!
