Default Hard to replace lower control arms?

Hi!

I have two bad control arms on my Avenger, boguht some new ones and will buy a "ball joint" fork.

Is it hard to replace them? It is the lower fronter control arms, the ones that are "straight".

It looks like there are two bolts only?

Can I just raise the car and replace them on each side? Any specific tourqe on the bolts?

The only special tool is a ball joint fork?

Thanks in advance.

Hi!

Thanks for answering,

Soon I will have the both control arms, they are on their way fron Chicago, USA to Sweden

So all I need is a ball joint fork and a socket wrench? Which size are the bolts?

Does it matter how hard I "tourqe them"? Or do I need the exact tourqe-number?

PS, I am talking about the lower front control arms, which are "straight" and not "bent".

Thanks in advance.

Hi again!

Did you find out what the specific tourqe was?

Must I think of something special?

Can I just raise the car with a jackstand and remove the wheel, then loosen the bolts holding the control arm? Or must I remove enything else?

Thanks in advance.

Best regards!

As mentioned I am traveling out of country I do not have my manual...I'd suggest getting one of your own or going to the library ...

Oh sorry, thought you'd be back by now =)

I have a manual for a Chrysler Cirrus and will follow the tourqe spec. for that car since I must replace the control arm tomorrow.

But its a straight forward job right? Just jack up the car and losen the bolts and bend the tie rod of with the tie rod-fork? Or must I loosen something else to "fit" the tools?

I will get back tomorrow about how it went

Best regards

Sorry for late response:

It was pretty easy to replace the arms, took me about 2 hours and I only had to loosen the wheels and the 2 bolts holding the arm and ofcourse the tie rod/ball joint.
