Avenger won't start - turn key, nothing happens
My 97 Avenger Coupe (V6) won't start. I haven't driving it much lately, but it did start fine up until now, even a couple of days ago it started with no problems. All the lights come on, it beeps and everything, but when I turn the key, nothing happens. I checked the battery, and it was only @ 50% (which is odd considering it's only 3mths old). But anyway, after charging, it still won't turn over. The lights don't cut out or dim when I hit the key. No starting clicking. I made a bunch of copper shims for my battery cable terminals so that they would fit over the battery posts (instead of buying new ones). Is it possible this is the problem? odd that is hasn't done it before, but maybe there isn't enough contact now?
I'm hoping for a simple fix. I had a similar problem with my van, and after following the dealer's advice, I ended up spending $400 to find out it was merely a bad connection to the battery. I have no stereo or alarm btw
Any help is appreciated
