Default Error code: p1294

I was getting a CEL on my 2000 avenger a few months ago i finally hooked up my phone to the obdii and it says im getting error code p1294
where can i find a explanation for this error code
i googled it and asked a few mechanics what this is, but they both gave me the run around.

P1294 is Target idle not reached. basically it could be a vacuum leak causing a high idle, or a bad Idle Air control solenoid.

could either of those explain why my car sometimes just shuts off?

to explain the situation when this started happening i would be going down the road at 25-75mph and the rpms would go down to 0 then when i pull over it just suddenly starts back up by itself... please if you have any idea what this could be please help i have taken it to 4 mechanics and all of them replaced some parts they said could cause this happening...

Your symptom sounds more like a bad CKPS or CPS crank position sensor /cam position sensor
