Default Need Electrical Help Please

Ok, here's the problem. I have a 1995 Avenger with a 4 cylinder and a automatic transmission.

While going down the road the car will randomly die on me. When it dies, everything will work, it just looses connection to the ecu/ pcm ( I think). When you go to restart the car it won't start. Everything comes on except the check engine light will not flash during the self check when it is first put to the run position like it should.

When I jumped the car with another vehicle, it will reset it and then the check engine light flashes and the car will start. I checked I have a good battery and the alternator is putting out 13.8v. When it does come back on after that there are no fault codes except that the battery has been disconnected.

When the car is working, and I shut it down, it will always start as it should. It is only when it dies while driving it will not restart.

So far I have replaced the ASD relay, checked all the wires in the engine and under the dash, checked all the fuses, checked the relays related to it, checked the alternator and battery, cleaned all the ground straps and added another ground from the battery to the chassis. As far as I can tell the computer is messed up, but I'm not sure how it can work sometimes and than just die in the middle of it, and how jumping the car would reset it.

I'm pretty much at a loss here of why it is doing this. Any help you could provide or any similar experiences would be appreciated.

Thanks!

I'd say it sounds like a bad battery terminal or cables or fusible link to the battery positive

Or the battery negitive terminal or cable

This bulletin involves hard wiring the connector location and repairing two splice joints. If built prior to 05/24/1995.. ck 2 way splice located behind drivers headlamp area. (A37) splice may corrode and cause intermittant stall, no start and may not store and diagnostic codes. .. also ck cam/crank sync.
