Ok guys, as previously mentioned in past posts, I recently had to replace the transmission in my 98 Avenger with the 2.5 motor in her. Heres what I know to date. I replaced the trans, the motor ran good when trans went out, replaced the trans, trans shop replaced the PRNDL switch in the trans, motor gets spark and gas, good compression (180).....Engine wont start, just seems to turn over. Engine wont turn over other than in Park or Neutral so im assuming the switch is working correctly. I pulled the plugs a few hours ago and noticed that the plugs are saturated with gas but I do know the plugs are getting spark. I installed an inline spark tester and everything seems to be fine.
Any suggestions on this one?

 

Did you reinstall the correct flywheel? The v6 engines have a special flywheel that has a ring that signals the crankshaft position sensor.
