Hello all,


I have 97 Avenger ES coupe which has a leak to transmission pan (noted). Failing to check status has now caused check engine light to turn on. Upon having code read, it has determined shift solenoid to be either burn out or fried. Temp was greater than 1000 degrees. Any suggestions to following questions: 1) I cant even find a image of the part, does anyone know? 2) where is it located? 3) I need a new one, possibly.

 

What engine?

 

Front of the trans (by radiator), under the intake tubing.
It's common for them to fail.
Get a new pan gasket and filter while you're at it.
