Good day and thanks in advance fellow car people. So first time working on a Dodge Avenger 1998. Friend had a noise coming from the steering pump so i checked it.
Steering was fine, smooth operation from the rack, but noise in bearing was evident.
So i replaced the Power Steering Pump with a reman from Autozone. Replacement was fine, pump made some noise until it got pressure and fluid flowing.
Now the steering is stiff and doesnt seem to smooth out. At first when I started it after the replacement i got fluid coming from the resevoir and then it went away.
Is it air locked?
Ive been starting it and moving the wheels back and forth to bleed air as ive read but still stiff steering.
Any ideas.

theres an adjustment that needs to made on the pump , to adjust the sensitivity on the rack
