Default Radiator installation

I just has my car at the mechanic and was told my head gasket was not bad but the radiator is blocked on my 1997 Avenger ES 2.5. How difficult is it to replace it.

Thanks

Not difficult at all.

I replaced the thermostat when this all started happening with the engine running a little warm, just over halfway on the gauge, and was told if I remove the thermostat that might help. Like I said, the car is at the mechanic now and he told me the radiator is blocked as there is no antifreeze in the lower hose and the lower hose is cool.

Thanks

Don't bandaid the issue by running with no thermostat. Replace the radiator. Flush the engine coolant passages and heater core as well.

Also, why would the car continue to stall when it is cold. I have no engine light on. I asked the mechanic at the shop who ran the test to make sure there was not a blown head gasket and told me the radiator was half plugged and he did not know the answer to that other than the computer could be out of wack since the engine is not running at the correct temperature. Could a bad engine coolant temperature sensor be at play here as well or should I just change the radiator, which is on the way, and see how it runs after that?

Thanks
