My 1997 dodge avenger es died on me leaving my house. I turn ignition on the temp gauge pings at top and wont start I touch throttle and gauge straightens up and will start i think it may be alternator causing issue since it had battery light on was charging at almost 14v(phone charger has gauge) then now its saying between 8 and 9 can an alternator cause this or could it be more
