I recently bought a beautiful 2000 Avenger Coupe with Mitsubishi's 6G73 2.5L V6 less than a month ago. I've been learning a lot about this car since purchasing it. I've named her DAVE (Dodge AVEnger). Yes, I know, it's a guy's name for a car. But my parents always named and referred to their cars as female back in the '70s and'80s. The more I learn, the more I'm growing to appreciate Dave and this 1st generation Avenger. For example: Like its fellow platform stablemates (7G Galant and DSM 2G Eclipse and Eagle Talon), it has a double-wishbone suspension at every corner. Another example: 1G Avenger dashboards and exterior/interior door handles are identical to the 2G Eclipse/Talon twins. Cool stuff! This may be the beginning of yet another automotive 'relationship' of mine. (I've had over 100+ automotive 'affairs' since high school. 🤯&#128518 Anyone else out there interested in sharing information about this underrated, underappreciated, under-the-radar underdog???
