Hey all Im new to this forum. I just purchase a 99 avenger... The idle is at about 1200rpm. I cant seem to figure it out. Any ideas that I can look into? Oh its the 2.5L.

 

The two thing that control the idle is the computer, idle speed motot, IAC (idle air control valve. May also be the throttle positioning sensor. I take off the throttle body, clean it (you can re-use the gasket), Use carb cleaner only!!! Not in excess!!!! Bolt it back up.

***IMPORTANT: Take off and both on when engine is cold (engine has not be run for 8 hrs.) (aluminum intake abd steel bolts)

 

I figured it out finally. It was the screw that lets the throttle back down all the way it wasnt letting it go back all the way.. Thanks for the response. now time to replace the ball joint....
