Default Avenger Owners..good deal?

I have an Avenger that I am trying to sell, and I thought it was a decent deal for it, but I ain't gettin any bites! I need to sell quick, and was wondering is the price seems decent. Heres the stats:

1998 Dodge Avenger
New Automatic Tranny
Grey Cloth Interior in great shape
2.5l V6 w/ 133,xxx miles

The Bad:
Door Handle broke off, but new one will come with the car, and has already been ordered
Somewhat large (6"x6") dent in back passenger fender. Most has been hammered out, can't hardly notice it
Another dent about 8"x4" in Drivers Side fender right in front of door (vandilism)
Hood has somewhat large dent from same vandalism time
Drivers side door mirror gone (just the glass)

Thats it I think. Besides for those dents and such, the paint is nice. Very glossy still, and washes up great.

I will sell the car with a Rockford Fosgate 900w Amp, Two 12" subs in Plexiglass Bandpass Box, and a Pioneer CD/MP3 Player. Also with two ALMOST new Goodyear Eagle tires.

I was asking 2500 OBO for everything. Do you think this is a decent price..? What would you pay, and what should I ask?

If anyone is interested, let me know!!!
I am in Saginaw, Michigan

Man, I have a fully loaded ES black with tan leather and wheels that I got for FREE!!! It took some convincing to make me think it was even worth that.................J/K I have grown to love my avenger in the short week I have had it. It may actually replace my other car when it is AWD

That sounds like too much-- especially for a michigan car.....................check the blue book value.........fix the door handle--- 90% of people arent interested in fixer-upers. You have to think like the consumer. I would try to replace the few missing parts with stuff from the junkyard and I would remove the stereo...........your not going to get that much extra for the car by selling it with the stereo---not that you dont have nice equipment, but you will regret it.....trust me. clean it up as perfect as you can get it- list it for 2500 or best offer.........put attention getters like " great first car..........runs great........new *******" and you will start to get some hits on it.

Kelly Blue Book for the car in "fair" shape is like 2850. Thats why I figured 2500 is a good deal. I wasnt really expecting to get anymore from the system, but the CD player will stay either way. I already plan on fixing the door handle, but sadly the dents have got to stay. I will try to get a mirror from a junkyard, but it seems everytime I call to find one, nobody has one. Well I may lower the price a little now just because of the dents and such.. but I can't go a whole lot lower! I will probably either ask 2300 or 2200 or best offer, and see what happens. My door handle should be arriving anyday.

Also, if I do wait to sell the car, and I did the body work, would it be worth the extra 200 or so I would spend on paint to get it fixed? I do body work as a "side job" anyway, but I still wasnt sure if it would be worth the extra couple hundred. How much would I be able to get either way, with and without the dents?

Thanks again
Jon

Some folks will pay KBB value if the car looks good and runs without worries. Think like a customer, would you buy your car with the dents that are on it or how the motor runs for the price you're asking for? Most folks will ask you to remove all the audio just to lower price too, you're selling it with the car so that's, that. If you really want to sell it, I say fix it up, then sell it....or lower the price much more than what you expect out of it. KBB usually consists of general issues and not dents....something like this...if you can't see it from a car's length, it's in good shape and that is what I would consider fair. Dents...not good.

Sold the car. A girl (verry GREAT looking one) with her mom. About my age... Got 2300 for it, I just gotta put the muffler back on since the mom don't like the "import sound". I feel like I got a fair amount. Now I got just enough money to buy my new truck (7000) with an extra 300 to transfer the plates and insurance!

Congrats man!!!!! Good job!! Did you manage to keep the stereo? Next time you go to sell a car though- remember the tips that were posted here. Silvercoupe brought up some good ones. A person seeking a car doesnt care too much about what you have done to make it yours. Most people seek a car that is as close to stock as they can get it when buying used. I have learned that b/c one of my hobbies is to fix up cars I get for around 300 bucks and flip them for around 3,000. Its all in what the buyers want and what is appealing to them. Being able to do body work is an awesome side job and hobby though by the way. It will give you something to fall back on if you ever need it.
