Hey guys. I just bought an avenger. 96 4 cyl. 5-speed. The car seems to run fine but there are some problems. maybe you guys can help me out..

1. When coming to a stop the car dies sometimes. It seems like it does when i push in the clutch. but it wont die if i push in the clutch with my foot on the gas. Now it never dies while accelerating only when stopping.

2. I was on the interstate this morning and it overheated. Or did it? i had the windows rolled up and the ac on. and the needle jumped up to hot.. turned the ac off and it went down a little then went back up... So i pulled off to the side of the road and it went back to normal after only a few seconds.. So i started going again and it was fine. But i never turned the ac back on....

3. The car runs kinda rough at idle. Like its missing. But all cylinders are firing.

I would suggest a complete basic tune up...oil, plugs, wires, pcv valve, air filter....and the not so basic = clean throttle body. It just sounds like it needs it...nothing major I don't think.
