Default 1999 Avenger suddenly dies

1999 Avenger 2.5 will suddenly die. RPM goes to zero and you're coasting. After a minute it would start up again. Changed the fuel filter. A few days pasted and then it started dying again. A few times for a week or two then it died and wouldn't start. Just turns over. I changed plugs (Champion), new plug wires, new cap and rotor. It started and ran fine but then died a couple of miles down the road.
No spark to the plugs. I'm thinking crankshaft sensor. How do you test for it? Any other suggestions?
