valve cover
ok i am going to have to replace the valve cover gasket on my 2.5 and i was wondering if anyone with a chilton or haynes could tell me the torque specs for the bolts and if i could get the bolt pattern for the wheels that would be alot of help to me one more thing is do the remote starters are they made for our cars or no and my overdrive sometimes like when i am going down the interstate and i punch it the car doesnt kick down like it should or other times my button to turn the overdrive off doesnt work could someone please help me with this
For the valve cover just hand tighten them starting from the middle and work your way out...left, right, left, right, etc. Don't start in the middle and work on one side then the other. The torque value is around 10ft lbs I believe...do yourself a favor and just start with hand tight and tighten them down with a 1/4" rachet and only snug. I say leave the torque wrench out of it unless you have the type that shows you the dial and you can see the amount of pressure that you are putting on it at all times as opposed to the rachet type torque wrench.
The bolt pattern is 5x114.3 with a 42mm offset. If you get an 17x8 rim...stay as close to 42mm is you plan on lowering it later or else you may rub on either side of the wheel well.
