I would recommend buying a Magnaflow or Flowmaster exhaust and just have a local shop make you a catback with their pipes...in other words, don't buy a catback exhaust "kit", just the actual exhaust. You'll save money that way and those two sound good and prices are that high IMO. I have a Maganflow set...exhaust and high flow cat and they sound deep...it better since the piping are 3" starting from the turbo, lol.

You can put just about any type of muffler you want under there. That's the last thing in the exhaust system and the thing that most people change. Be careful of what you get though. I think another 2.5 owner bought the PaceSetters and got a really ricey sound from it...Honda Civic ricey...angry bumble bee...any of those ring a bell? lol. For the most part, Magnaflow and Flowmaster's have an almost stock sound and are bought for different cars and sound good, IMO.
Sounds to me like your only looking for the "can" under the rear bumper, so the price should be high, anywhere from $60-$80 plus the labor to put it on.

Btw, the stock one is fine, unless you've got rust on it and/or just want to have a louder one. The muffler alone won't net even a 1hp gain.
