Something odd I just noticed.
What comes with the Dodge aveger base vs ES.
My 96 avenger has 16 inch wheels (205/55/16s) power everything, Anti-lock brakes but I dont see any ES on my car.
My thing is I ordered shocks and rear wheel bearings for the Base model not the ES. That shouldnt be a problem should it?
The cars are the same except for the wheel size and motor/tranny (4 cyl standard vs 6 cyl auto) right?

That's a good question.
Everything on the ES are just the options made standard. On the Base models though, if the original owner ordered theirs, they can have the ES without the ES badging.
Most ESes come with foglights, 17" rims (97-00)...95-96 ES models come with 16" rims. The ES also came with ABS and 4 wheel disc brakes. They also came with anti-sway bars standard. Then there's the Sport which is a mix of the two. All of which can be confusing, lol.
There are more details and what each initially had, but it's been awhile since I "knew" all of them.
If you have ABS and rear disc brakes instead of the drum, that will affect buying the bearings. Replacement shocks should be the same. I'll check to be sure though. I can tell you that my DCX, Haynes, and Chiltons manual never mentions different ways of taking off shocks for either motors or any model, they were all referrenced the same, just know that there is a difference with what shocks you need because of the two motors causing the car to weigh differently.
