Default check engine light ????

My 2000 dies in traffic and won't start for five minutes of cranking over. The S.E.S. light comes on and the code checked out to be the cam position sensor. Has anybody had a similar problem? Does anybody know whats wrong with my car?[sm=feedback.gif][sm=dontgetit.gif]

take it to a shop and ask them to replace the sensor.

Or do it yourself and save some green for the crank angle sensor when it goes out

Thats a pretty simple fix bud.......usually the pcm codes are right on

what engine do you have? if you have the 2.5 the cam position sensor and crank position sensor are both very easy. i had to replace my crankshaft position sensor and it took all of 15 minutes. cam sensor is even easier, you just replace the distributor (a pretty expensive part)

well if you buy the distributor and do it yourself, you would save about 400-500 in labor...when i had the same symptom, all i had to do was remove the intake tube, battery, and battery plate. Then just unbolt the distributor. u have to pull a little on it to get it off though..
