1998 Avenger 2.5
Bought this car for my daughter. The crazy thing is hard to start. After about 25 tries it will finally start. but don't shut it off or I will have to go thru the process all over again. It has a new dist. throttle posistion senser and what ever the other senser is on the throttle body. The engine light is on. I haven't taken it the shop and scaned it yet. Oh, previous owner also recently put in a used computer.

Do the keydance...
turn it to the ACC position X3 and on the third time keep it on ACC and count the number of times the CEL comes on. The numbers come in pairs...I.E. 1-2 and the final number(s) is 5-5 which is the end code.

Oh yeah, on the last turn to the ACC position, listen for the fuel pump to make sure that it's turning on. Check the spark plugs to make sure the gap is correct and to check their condition.
