It worked!!!!!!!!!!!

 

Awesome! Drive it a little bit harder than usual to make sure it's not just waiting to act up during stop and go driving, in other words, heat it up a bit. That's where our tranny will either fall on it's face or "keep on keepin' on".

 

I already hit it hard. Tranny snaps good, all is OK. Now to be carefull as I don't want to drop it on the road! ;-)

 

i have the same problem but i smell rotten eggs my idle is lower than 50rpms (if it idles) and it dont go into limp mode but every few weeks. the check engine light comes on after about 2min of running and i cant read a code with a generic reader or even with an ezscan 5000. what does eatx and asd stand for? and i have a 1995 dodge avenger 2.5l with 4 relays on the firewall


i need some serious help my wife cant drive the car because its like driving a manual

 

I'd check your Evap system and o2 sensors. Take your car to autozone and have them scan it for free. Or do the key dance and you'll get MIL codes and post them here and we can tell you what they are. EATX powers up the TCM and ASD is the Automatic Shut Down.

 

the key dance dont work, autozone cant read the codes. and where do i get the relays ? radio shack's are3 totally different and autozone dont carry them except for the fuel pump relay

 

My radio shack here didnt have the relay's they were totally different. I had to go to the dealer they were 16 a piece. I think I am going to re-replace them all now after reading this. I just got 2 of them not too long ago, but have a 3rd yet. Will get them all though to see. I have a post right now about my car issues and they are sort of similiar. The TPS code keeps coming up for me too when its acting up. I am just going to ignore it.

thanks for talking me out of taking it to the dealer for 78 bucks to diagnosis this. I was hesitant before thinking they wouldnt find anything, would tell me its the tps, or tell me to buy a 1,600 tranny.

I am going tomorrow if its still open to get the relays. will post up if it helps me out with my failing to shift under load issues and lack of power at times.

The key dance should work for the 95s. Check your CEL bulb and make sure that it isn't blown...better yet, does the CEL light come on when you first start the car as part of it's self test? The fuel pump relay, EATX, and ASD are all the same relays, they do the same thing. They are only called what they are called because that's what they deal with, they're not item specific relays. You can also swap them around and they will still work.
