I don't know what's wrong...
I have a 95 Dodge Avenger and just today it started to act weird. It "bucks" or shakes really bad when I let off the gas and the MPH goes to about 20 or so. When I was slowing down to stop at a stop sign to turn, my check engine light came on and the car shut off. I was able to start it back up again after 30 seconds or so but as I continued to drive and let off the gas, it would still shake. Does anyone know what's wrong with it? I have to drive an hour to work every day so I don't want it to break down on me on the highway or something...
Do a basic tune up..plugs, wires, distro rotor, PCV valve, and check the distributor's contact rods...I'm assuming that you have a V6. The crankshaft sensor could be going out on you also, that is a very common thing for the V6 with those symptoms + more.
Also try checking the fuel pump by turning the car ignition to the ON position without turn the car on. You should hear the fuel pump come on (sound comes from the back seat area).
That should take care of Fuel and Spark, there's not much to air, lol.
If it's not the end components, then it may have to deal with the electronic aspect or the management part. On the firewall, there are or should be 2-4 relays that control fuel and unfortunately it's late so I've forgotten the other 2, lol. It's in one of the other posts in here though. I'll get back to that tomorrow
.
Anyway, they can also go bad and get stuck or weak. The relays are inexpensive too.

Yeah, it just needed tuned up. Unfortunately, I don't know how to do that myself so I had to go to a mechanic and they charged me an arm and a leg for it. But that problem is fixed, now I just have to pray nothing else goes wrong with it for a while at least. Thanks for your help, at least I'll know that for the next time.
