well judging by the weight and hp ( avenger- round 2900-3000 lbs and 163 hp) ( stratus- 3000-3100 lbs and 147) it would be the avenger in a 1/4 mile drag.....dunno wut the stratus top speed is tho so top speed to top speed i couldnt tell ya

Looking at some stock 1/4 mile times, the 2003 Stratus is a 15.9 second car, while the Avenger is a 17.1 second car. So on a 1/4, they got you beat. Also our manual 4 cylinder Avengers are quicker than the V6...I know, odd. They have the same times though.

My stock Avenger 2000 2.5 sport has been up to 130mph on the speedo. I pretty much had my foot through the firewall at the time. I think its got an electronic cut out. So I expect it would,nt go any faster. BTW I did floor my 2004 Durango once to see what it would do. The electronic cut out came on at 110 mph.. I was,nt expecting that to happen and it scared the hell out of me.I thought I had blown something up. LOL

Considering the year '98 vs '03, 5 years make a difference, plus I think 4 cyl cars are a lil quicker, more resposive than our V6s!

That's true, but I don't think it's because we have a V6, I believe it's because of our automatic transmissions and how they are setup from the factory. With the right transmission mods you can mimic a standard tranny...not perfect but good for an auto, such as a higher stall torque converter, shift kit, tranny cooler (it's going to get hot), LSD, etc.
Take our cars and match up an I4 standard with a V6, the I4 will be quicker. Now, put our I4 auto up to our V6, our V6 will be "quicker". See my point?

Lol, I guess, subconsciously..yes
That's the whole purpose of aftermarket upgrades though right?
If other's didn't think the same, there wouldn't be a need for them, nor would the aftermarket ones make a difference.

You are right as always! But hey, you do what you have to do to make it faster! In our case we have a lot of room for our imagination! Unlike Ferrari and Lambo, you drive what you have!
